Obituary

Mollie Virginia Johnson, 82 of Huntington, WV, passed away on Friday July 11, 2008 at Hospice House of Huntington.  Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at Southside United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael S. Chapman officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. She was born January 23, 1926 in Earling, WV a daughter of the late M.K. and Verna Bias Morrison. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon V. “Bucky” “V.V.” Johnson, and brothers and sisters, Nettie Creech, Edna Midkiff, Earl Morrison, Leonard Morrison, Murl Morrison, Opal Scraggs, Mary Kuper, Raymond Morrison and Daniel Morrison. She was the secretary for the former V.V. Johnson Heating and Cooling. Mollie was a member for over 50 years at Southside United Methodist Church where she taught and was the Superintendent for Sunday School and also taught Vacation Bible School. She loved children and enjoyed being around them and had a gift of finding good in everyone. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women and the Mary Martha Circle. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Rick Holt and a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Donna Johnson all of Huntington; a sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Fred Black of Danville, WV; four grandchildren, Pamela Malpass of Cincinnati, OH; Allison Roe, Seth Holt and Cole Johnson all of Huntington; great-grandchildren, Hunter Roe, Savannah Roe and Alexis Malpass and two sisters-in-law, Vernie Ellis of Bear Creek, WV and Hattie Johnson of Barboursville, WV. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to all of her caregivers over the years.
