Obituary

MARGARET A. (PEGGY) STEELE CARSON, has journeyed to her next life to join her God, Savior and other loved ones after 80 years here with us. Struggling with various health issues for many years, they became serious early this year, and she was taken home from Hospice House Sunday night, March 10, 2013. Peggy was a lifelong resident of the Walnut Hills area of Huntington, and was well known and loved by so many in that community and elsewhere. She was a loving mother of and wife, and was down to earth and giving. A life-long member of Beverly Hills United Methodist Church, she was very active in just about every aspect of the church over the years. She married her high school sweetheart, and kept all her friends over the years, and was still making new ones at her new residence in Riverview Manor when she became ill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Leroy Carson, and their son, Max Arthur Carson, her parents, Arthur and Irene Steele, all of Huntington and one brother Arthur Steele of WA. Surviving are her siblings and in-laws, brother, Jack and Doris Chittum, sisters Marjorie Streib, and Jane and Richard McLeod, all of Huntington, Arlene Steele of WA, two daughters, Toni Carson, and Terri Fizer of Huntington and NC respectively, grandchildren, Jason Carson (Htgn), Ryan Carson and Amy Carson (Kevin) Clark of VA, Rachel Fizer (Sidney) Murphy and Carl Glenn Fizer of NC, and great-grandchildren, Alexandra Carson (Htgn), Kayla, Hunter and Cody Murphy of NC. Also many nieces, nephews, both grands and greats, and many, many friends, she followed each one, near and far, reveling in their successes, mourning their losses with them. We will celebrate Peggy's life on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev Bill Haynes officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the mortuary. Graveside committal service will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Emogene Dolin-Jones Hospice House of Huntington, Beverly Hills United Methodist Church, or the charity of your choosing.
