ELIZABETH A. WOODALL, 88, of Carmel, Ind., formerly of Huntington, W.Va., died Wednesday October 2, 2013, in Indianapolis, Ind. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Beard Mortuary with Rev. Ron Burnsworth officiating. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. The family will receive friends after noon until service time. She was born December 4, 1924, in Huntington, W.Va., the daughter of the late Harvey Alexander and Anne Fitzpatrick Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Woodrow Wilson Woodall. She attended the Marshall Lab School and was in the first graduating class at Huntington East High School. She graduated from Marshall University in 1946, received her teaching degree in 1948. She also received a full scholarship offering to Julliard Conservatory of Music in New York. She also had a mind for business serving as manager for the former Shank's Tire Company. Elizabeth had many hobbies; she was an avid Marshall Football Fan, loved to travel, create scrapbooks, research family history, discuss politics and was an accomplished pianist. She was also a long-standing member of the Civic League in Huntington and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was a dedicated, loving and caring mother to her daughter, Anne Powers of Indianapolis, Ind., and her granddaughter, Heather E. Bailey of Arlington, Va. They will always have fond memories her playfulness, caring for others and her warm and welcoming home
