William Thomas (Bill) Jones, 94, of Lovettsville, Va. formerly of Huntington ,WV, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 29th at Woodland Assisted Living. Born March 13,1921 in Huntington, he was the son of Donaldson T. and Dorothy Fultz Jones. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margo in 1993,daughter Becky Hopkins in 2004 and sister Dorothy Don Williams in 2014. He is survived by his son, William R Jones (life partner Jack), his daughter Jo Anne Jordan (husband Ed), grandchildren Mary Anne Edwards (husband Kenny), David Jordan (wife Ann), Amy Rexroat (husband Bryan), Chris Hopkins (fiance' Jillian); great grandchildren Micah Powell, Derek, Daniel and Megan Edwards, Evan and Vanessa Rexroat, and Cameron, Elle and Tyler Jordan, and nephew Jerry Williams (wife Billie Jean) and niece Debbie Panipinto (husband Mark). Bill graduated from Huntington High School in 1939 and joined the Naval Reserves. He was a decorated WW II veteran who never wanted any recognition for his service to his country as a Chief Aviation Radioman in the Navy. He worked as an electrician for the C&O Railroad in Huntington until he retired in 1983. Bill was an active, faithful member of Highlawn Baptist Church for most of his adult life. More recently he was a member of Pea Ridge Baptist Church. At the age of 89, due to declining health, he moved to Woodland Assisted Living in Va. For the 5 years he was at Woodland, he received excellent care from all his wonderful caregivers. He even learned to play and enjoy Bingo! He also enjoyed attending Faith Baptist Church, where his son-in-law was pastor. A special thanks to his friend, Kim Hazell, for taking him to church every Sunday. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 12th at 11:00 am at Beard Mortuary, Huntington with Reverend Roger Adams officiating. Internment with military honors will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
