Barbara J. Atkins
(October 26, 1938 - December 27, 2014)

Barbara Jane Atkins was born October 26, 1938 in Charleston, WV to the late John R. and Elizabeth French Galloway. She passed away December 27th, 2014 at her home. She was a supervisor in house keeping at Marshall University until her retirement. She was a faithful member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church were she served the church in many capacities. She was preceded in death by her husband Sylvester Atkins, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted son Brian K. Atkins and his fiance Renee. 2 grandsons, Travis and Isaiah and grand daughter Aleria and 3 great grand sons . 2 Sisters Mary Reaves of Owens Mills, MD and Myrtle Hairston of Charleston, WV. A very special friend Mary Caul and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be Noon Saturday at the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Franklin Murphy, Sr officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.
