Emily Carole Ward
(February 8, 2044 - August 10, 2018)

Emily Carole Ward, 74 of Pikeville, KY (formerly of Huntington, WV) passed away on August 10, 2018. She was born in Huntington, WV on February 8, 1944; a daughter of Thomas Cobb and Emma Lee Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Amanda Ward. Emily leaves behind to mourn her loss, her husband of 56 years, Elgin Morris Ward, Sr.; her children, Elgin Morris Ward, Jr. (Myrtle), Timothy Sean Ward (Lisa) and Christopher Bryan Ward (Jen); her 7 grandchildren: Robert Pelfrey, Michael Ward, Tatum Ward, Bryanna Ward, Rachael Matthews, Josiah Ward and Brynna Ward. Also surviving are her great-grandchildren: Zion Matthews, Piper Matthews, Grant Ward, Jasmine Pelfrey, Bobby Pelfrey and Colt Pelfrey; and her brothers, Brent Cobb (Carol) and Randall Cobb (Beverly). Emily was an honorary member of the Athletic Hall of Fame at the University of Pikeville in Pikeville, KY and was a Kentucky Colonel. She will be cremated and her Celebration of Life service will be conducted on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home, Huntington, WV.
