Obituary

ESSIE "TOOTSIE" HATFIELD CLAGG, 82, of Milton, loving mother, grandmother and sister, went to be with the Lord and loved ones who've gone on before her Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with Minister W.R. "Bud" Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. She was born Feb. 1, 1921, a daughter of the late James Albert and Chloe Hatfield. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Morrison Clagg; her son, Paul Hatfield; two brothers, James Albert Jr. and Robert Jefferson Hatfield; and two sisters, Violet Meadows and Mary Lillian Hatfield. She is survived by her three daughters, Karen Leggett of Summersville, W.Va., Gloria Wyant of Milton and Betty Waugh of Shoals, W.Va.; one son, Michael Clagg of Milton; three sisters, Lessie Moses, Myrtle Chapman and Bessie Holley, all of Milton; one brother, Harold Lloyd Hatfield, also of Milton; 15 grandchildren, Diana Hatfield, Paula Blankenship, Tate Prasser, Anna Marie Ragula, Rick Leggett, Chris Leggett, Tony Waugh, Troy Waugh, Tim Waugh, Mark Wyant, Stephen Wyant, Lori Clagg, Christina Clagg, Michael Clagg and Rodney Kirby; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
