Obituary

GORDON DANIEL HAZELETT, 51, of Ona went home to be with his Lord Friday, Oct. 22, 2004, at his residence. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, at Beulah Ann Missionary Baptist Church, Ona, with Pastor Paul Meadows officiating. Burial will follow in Arthur Cemetery, Ona. Gordon was born Jan. 28, 1953, in Cabell County, a son of the late Harlan and Juanita Welch Hazelett. He was a member of Beulah Ann Missionary Baptist Church. He was a retired First Sergeant from the United States Army, a member of the American Legion and a 1970 Barboursville High School graduate. Gordon is survived by his loving wife, Bernice Childers Hazelett; one son, Jeremy Hazelett; three stepchildren, Christy Holley and husband, Scottie, Dee Sargent and husband, Todd and Jamie Clagg and wife, Trudy; three grandchildren, Josh Holley, Whitlee Clagg and Madison Sargent; one sister, Amy Chapman and husband, Donnie; two nieces, Shelley Morgan and Charity Kelley; and two nephews, Gary Chapman and Kevin Chapman. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, and one hour prior to service Monday at the church.
