Obituary

KATHRYN L. STAPLETON, 75, of Milton went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004, at her residence. Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with the Rev. Pete Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in Rome (Ohio) Cemetery. She was born March 30, 1929, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late Roy R. and Vera M. Fulford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse J. Stapleton. She attended Antioch Baptist Church and was a member of the VFW Ladies' Auxiliary. She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sheila and Jesse Adkins of Milton, Sherry and Mike McColgan of Columbus, Ohio, and Sabra Perego of Huntington; three sons and daughters-in-law, Leroy and Kelli Stapleton of Rex, Ga., Hank and Cheryl Stapleton of Columbus and James and Valerie Stapleton of Huntington; four sisters, Juanita Ross of Huntington, Gloria Markowitz of Bowie, Md., Brenda Mahurin of Phoenix and Sharon Fulford of Huntington; one brother, Leroy Fulford of Huntington; 19 grandchildren, including David Stapleton, who she raised; and 13 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, at Heck Funeral Home.
