Obituary

RETHA MAE GOODPASTER, 82, of Milton went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 18, 2005, in St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m., Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with Pastor Rick Glass officiating. Burial will follow in Bias Chapel Church Cemetery, Milton. She was born June 12, 1922, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of the late Van and Serena Black. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Norman Lee Goodpaster; three sisters, Aderine Campbell, Julie Bryant and Levie Drummond; two brothers, Lonnie "Doc" Black and Oscar Black. She is survived by six sons, Merle Goodpaster and wife Connie, Donnie Goodpaster and wife Nancy, Norman Goodpaster and Brenda, all of Milton, Terry Goodpaster and Dreama of Ona, Verle Goodpaster and wife Teresa of Barboursville, Mike Goodpaster and wife Barbara of Wayne; two daughters, Reba Conrad and Sherry Davis and husband Denver, all of Milton; one sister, Mary Bartam; special friend Jim Parker; 19 grandchildren, Marvin, Corey, Jason, Kelly, Kevin, Valerie, Missy, Bryan, Mike, Glenn, Michael, Mark, Joey, Scottie, Michael, Tiffany, Shane, Sheridan and Shannon; 31 great-grandchildren. Retha was a great mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed and loved by all. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2005, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
