JEANE SANDERFUR BAKER
(July 12, 1922 - May 7, 2014)



Jeane Sanderfur Baker, 91 of Huntington, WV, passed away, Wednesday, May 7, 2014. She was born July 12, 1922 in Huntington WV the daughter of the late Ison Yeager and Mabel Hunley Sanderfur. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 1983 by her husband, Paul R. Baker; one sister, Martha S. Kean, son-in-law, F. James Reymond and great-grandson, Joseph A. Miller. She was a 1940 graduate of Huntington High School, worked for AEP, was also a social worker at the Huntington Health Dept. and in 1966 moved to Pt. Pleasant, WV where she was a social worker for Mason County Schools for fourteen years until she retired in 1982. She was a Charter member of Huntington Women’s Club and the Cotillion Club. She is survived by two daughters, Bari (Ed) Sojack of Dunedin, FL, Becky J. Reymond of Point Pleasant, WV; one son, William (Pat) Baker of Manteo, NC; brother-James C. Sanderfur- Baltimore, Md. grandchildren, Jeff Sojack and Lori (Camus) Sojack both of Dunedin, FL, Marnie (Jeff) Miller of Columbus, OH, Beth (Chris) Simpkins of Catlettsburg, KY, James P. Reymond of Charlotte, NC, Paige (Michael) Lovejoy of Point Pleasant, WV, Dr. Erin Baker of Okracoke, NC, Brent H. Baker of Baltimore, MD and Michael Baker of Durham, NC; great-grandchildren, Lauren Miller, Elijah Simpkins, Elyn Simpkins, Lexi Lovejoy, Braxton Lovejoy, Ethan Lovejoy, Camus Mitchell, Mehki Mitchell and Zoe Modlin. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 10, 2014 at Woodmere Memorial Park, Mausoleum Chapel, Huntington, WV with Rev. Bob Bondurant officiating. The Baker family request memorial donations be made to Christopher Reeves Paralysis Foundation, 636 - Morris Turnpike, Suite 3A, Short Hills, N. J. 07078. Family will receive friends at the cemetery chapel from 10:30 am until 11:00 am. service time.
