JAMES LARRY McCAW
(October 15, 1946 - October 27, 2014)



James Larry "Crash" McCaw, 68, of Barboursville, W.Va., passed away on Monday, October 27, 2014, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House with his family by his side. He was born October 15, 1946 in Cabell County, W.Va. a son of the late, Charles and Rosemary Uhl McCaw. He was retired from the Huntington Fire Department with 25 years of service, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was very proud to serve his country. He was also a member of the International Firefighters Association, Local #289, and the American Legion, Barboursville, W.Va. Larry was also a self-employed contractor. He loved God, family and his friends and enjoyed fishing, dancing, music, playing the drums and driving his 1965 Corvair. He loved his dog "Gadget" who was his constant companion. He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Grant McCaw of Barboursville, W.Va; two daughters, Monica Justice and Thomas Bowen of Ona, W.Va. and Stacy (Matt) Black of Huntington, W.Va; three granddaughters, Cassie (Corey), Chelsea (Jason), Stephanie (Josh); two great-granddaughters, Jaelynn and Halle and a special family member, David Justice and so many of the Grant family that he considered his own; two sisters, Susan (Don) Brown of Huntington, W.Va and Judy (Darrell) Duncan of Proctorville, OH and one brother, Charles (Mary) McCaw of Barboursville, W.Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday. October 30, 2014, at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary with Pastor Jerry Warren officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va. The family will Receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the Mortuary. The Huntington Fire Department will provide honors. The Milton American Legion #139, will conduct graveside honors. The family would like to give special thanks to Edgewood Manor, Lucasville, OH, Hospice of Huntington, Huntington Fire Department and to his brother, Charlie McCaw for all his help during this trying journey through Alzheimer’s. Larry fought a great battle and will be greatly missed.
