DOUGLAS MATTHEW BROOKS SCOTT

Douglas Matthew Brooks Scott, 39 of Huntington, W.Va. passed away, Saturday, October 11, 2014 in The Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH. He was born February 13, 1975 in Huntington, W.Va. the son of Douglas and Brenda Gwyn Brooks of Huntington, W.Va. He was employed at M.U. Café and was a writer, poet, published author and was a member of Real Life Christian Center, Huntington, W.Va. In addition to his parents, he is also survived by his three children, Madrina Brooks of Huntington, W.Va, Tyler Chaffins of Milton, W.Va. and Kendall Brown of Cleveland, OH; two sisters, Sonya and Sheila Scott both of Huntington, W.Va. and one brother, Derrick Scott (Mary) of Huntington, W.Va; nieces and nephews, Jasmine Scott, Jessica Scott, Christopher Brooks, Candice Rogers, Rhuemond Bush, Chris and Aaron Pennington and Brittany and Shana Slash; a great niece and nephew, Ethan Brooks and Ka-mayh Harper. A Homegoing Celebration will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Real Life Christian Ceneter, Huntington, W.Va with Pastor, Bishop Charles D. Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in Rosemont Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until services time on Saturday at the church. Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Barboursville, W.Va. is caring for the family.
