Mabel Mae Jones
(June 1, 1922 - June 8, 2013)

Mabel Mae Jones, 91, of Huntington, formerly of Charleston, went home to be with her Lord, on June 8, 2013 at Heritage Center in Huntington surrounded by family. She was born June 1, 1922 in Jackson County, W.Va., a daughter of the late William McKinley Stewart and Matilda Mae Duff Stewart. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a son, Darius Lee Jones; two sisters and three brothers, Ruth Spencer, Reba Kessel, Lee, James and Dale Stewart. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and retired from the O. J. Morrison Department Store in Charleston. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Darius S. Jones of Huntington; one son, Rod (Jane) Jones of Huntington; two grandchildren, Carrie (Dan) Underwood of Huntington and Michael B. Jones and his fiancé Lauren of Pittsburgh, PA; two great grandchildren, Emily and Megan Underwood; two brothers, Marvin Stewart of Calf. and Keith Stewart of Sissonville, W.Va. and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at The Last Supper Mausoleum at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes, by The Rev. Chris Perkins. Interment will follow. Visitation will be Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. until service time at the Mausoleum. Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary is assisting the family. The family requests that memorials be sent to Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
