Obituary

Margaret Ann Lewis
(March 10, 1939 - July 6, 2016)



July 6, 2016 from the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington. Margaret Ann was born on March 10, 1939 in Vienna, WV, the daughter of the late James L. Davis and Nettie Belle Channels Davis. She attended Wood County public schools, graduating from Parkersburg High School in 1957. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Charles C. Lewis of Huntington; they were married on June 30, 1979 and moved immediately south, living in Charlotte, North Carolina. They returned to Huntington in 1994. Surviving her also are two sons from an earlier marriage to the late John Kase Wilson of Parkersburg, John Kase Wilson Jr. of Parkersburg and James Gregory Wilson (and his wife BeLinda) of Matthews, North Carolina. She is survived by her grandchildren, Cameron in Matthews, NC, daughter of Greg and BeLinda Wilson; and, Carrson in Fuquay-Varina, NC, son of John Kase Wilson,Jr. She has two step granddaughters, Margarita and Sylvia Lewis in Summerville, South Carolina. Also, surviving is her younger sister, Charlene Bauerbach and her husband Dale of Marietta, Ohio. Their son, her nephew Troy J. Bauerbach, is currently stationed in Germany. She was preceded in death by her nephew, Darrin James Bauerbach. Margaret Ann had a career as a dental assistant in Vienna, Parkersburg, and Huntington as well as Charlotte, NC. She was the first manager of Heritage Station, Huntington in the 1970’s. She was a member of Johnson Memorial United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and attended the Fellowship Sunday School Class. She enjoyed participating in the Marshall University Choral Union. She was an eight year volunteer at the Joan C. Edwards Cancer Center and served as a mentor and role model with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of the Tri State for over ten years. Her beautiful smile, artistic talent and gracious hospitality were endearing gifts to all who knew her. The family extends their thanks to her Johnson Memorial Church family for all of their prayers and support. Appreciation is extended for the care given her by caregivers at the Hospice House. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2016 at Klingel - Carpenter Mortuary by the Rev. Teresa Deane and Rev. John Lipphardt. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington.
