Marjorie Ferguson Fischer
(December 24, 1928 - October 21, 2016)



Marjorie L. Ferguson Fischer, 87, of Huntington, peacefully passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016 at her residence at the Woodlands Retirement Community. She was born on December 24, 1928 to the late Dr. Jack and Mary “Mayme” Ferguson. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Ferguson and her sister, Ann Galloway. Marge is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Harry Emerson Fischer and her two sons and daughter: Jack E (Karen) Fischer, Mary Kris (Charlie) Fischer Godley, and Andrew (Karri) W. Fischer; a sister-in-law: Joy (Bill) Fischer McIlvain; 9 grandchildren: Jacob Fischer, Karianne Fischer, Ben Fischer, Sarah (Kaveh) Jokar Deris, Mark (Sarah) Allen, Jonathan Barker, Drew Fischer, Emily Fischer, and Kadin Gould; and 4 nieces: Melissa (Barry) Galloway Casoli, Julie (John) Ferguson Snell, Janie (Jim) Ferguson Scurti, and Jill (Marc) Ferguson DiNola. Marge was a graduate of Marshall College and a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. She was a retired teacher from Cabell and Wayne counties, having taught at Vinson High School as well as Lincoln and Cammack Jr. High Schools. There will be no visitation or service, per her request. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Woodlands Retirement Community Foundation to benefit Marge’s healthcare team that she cared for and loved dearly.
