Harry Fischer
(November 19, 1926 - March 28, 2020)




Harry Emerson Fischer, 93, of Huntington, West Virginia passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at his residence at the Woodlands Retirement Community.  He was born on November 19, 1926 in Huntington.  He was preceded in death by his father Emerson Dewey Fischer, mother Anna J. Humphreys Fischer, brother Fred Humphreys Fischer, and his loving wife of 66 years Marjorie L. Ferguson Fischer.  Harry attended Marshall University and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, the U.S. Army, B.P.O.E. 313 (past Exalted Ruler), former Huntington City Councilman and he retired as the business manager of Prestera Center.  He was also a personal accountant for many small businesses and families.  Harry loved photography and developed his own film.  He thoroughly enjoyed playing croquet where he was a tournament champion for a number of years at the Woodlands.  He is survived by his sister Carolyn Joyce Fischer McIlvain (William), three children Jack Fischer (Karen), Mary Kris Fischer Godley (Charlie), and Andrew W. Fischer (Karri); nine grandchildren Jacob Fischer (Amber), Karianne Fischer, Ben Fischer, Sarah Allen Jokar Deris (Kaveh), Mark Allen (Sarah Rachel), Jonathan Barker, Drew Fischer, Emily Fischer and Kadin Gould; one great granddaughter Elliah Jokar Deris; and many loving nephews and nieces.  
The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Woodlands Retirement Community for their excellent service and care for over 19 years.  A special thank you goes to the staff of the Assisted Living division, as well as Hospice of Huntington.
