Dennis Lee Bowen
(March 3, 1039 - March 14, 2010)



DENNIS LEE BOWEN, 71, of Chesapeake, Ohio, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2010, at St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor John Bowen, his nephew, and Pastor D.L. Webb. Entombment will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. He was born March 3, 1939, in Huntington, a son of the late Nicholas and Edith Mae Jessee Bowen. He was a retired pipeliner for Sun Oil Co., and a member of the Baptist faith. Dennis was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a Mason in the Dunbar, W.Va., Lodge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Walter A. Bowen and sisters Ella Blake and Phyllis Beaver. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Ida Lou Damron Bowen; two daughters and a son-in-law, Denise Bowen of Charlotte, N.C., and Debbie and Terry Bower of Greensburg, Pa.; a granddaughter, Samantha Bower; four brothers, Ervin R. Bowen of Richmond Hill, Georgia, Jim Bowen, David Bowen and Larry Bowen, all of Huntington; a sister, Sharon Slone of Huntington and several special nieces and nephews. Friends may call from noon until service time at the Reger Funeral Home.
