Dolores Brumfield, 86, of Huntington, WV, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family members on December 19, 2014 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was born on April 19, 1928 in Huntington, WV the only child of Bessie and Vernon Fuller. Dolores graduated from Huntington High School in 1946 and married Jack Brumfield on December 3, 1948. She retired from Marshall University School of Medicine where she worked as a secretary in the Biochemistry Department. Prior to her service at Marshall, Dolores served as the church secretary at Madison Avenue Christian Church. She was a lifetime member of the Madison Avenue Christian Church and spent many years serving in the sanctuary choir. She is survived by one son Steve (Nancy) Brumfield; one daughter-in-law Cheryl Brumfield; five grandchildren: Steve (Kelly) Brumfield; Tim (Jennifer) Brumfield; James (Nicole) Knapp, Jr.; Jonathan (Rachel) King; Joseph (Sara) Brumfield; 14 great-grandchildren and special friend and caregiver Jill Cook. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son Michael Brumfield. Services will be held Tuesday, December 22 at 1:30 pm at Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Jamie Gump in Huntington with viewing from 11:30 to1:30 prior to the service. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Memorial contributions to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington will be appreciated.
