Obituary

NEVADA KILGORE
(April 5, 1921 - May 27, 2014)



Mrs. Nevada Mae Kilgore, 93 of Huntington, WV transcended into Heaven, May 27, 2014 at Heartland of Riverview. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Prince of Peace Freewill Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. by Pastor Phillip Warren. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday , May 30, 2014 at the Reger Funeral Home. Nevada was born April 5, 1921 to James Harding and Bertha C. Buskirk Dickerson. She was a retired seamstress for the Huntington Manufacturing Company, with 28 years of service, and was an avid gardener and volunteer. She attended Prince of Peace Church, was a member of the Westmoreland Senior Center, where she is VP Site Council, Bison Senior Center, Red Hats, and loved to dance. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband Earl Martin Wilkes, and 2nd husband Irvin Kilgore and her son Kenneth Earl Wilkes; her sisters: Opal, Helen, Wilma, Gertrude, Mary, and Virginia; her brothers: Sterling, Bervin, Willard, Woodrow and John. Survivors include her son Ernest Eugene Wilkes (Patty), daughter-in-law Rose Wilkes; grandchildren: Jeanette Kettlewell (Mark), Kimberly Oxley (Delbert), Randall Wilkes (Frankie) David Wilkes (Vidya) and Suzanne Portante (Jerry); great grandchildren: Drew and Madi Oxley, Ellen Kettlewell, Alyssa Wilkes, Elizabeth, Cecilia and Isabella Portante and Aashna Wilkes, a number of nieces and nephews, a multitude of special friends and neighbors, including, Bob Marcum, Andy and Tom and Roger and Deloris Jean, and “the golden girls”. A special thank you to her many caregivers at Cabell Huntington Hospital I.C. U., 2 North , a special thanks to Heartland of Riverview. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to charity of your choice. Pallbearers will be Delbert Oxley, Drew Oxley, Mack Kilgore, Randy Kilgore, Jeremy Kilgore and Jacob Kilgore.
