Bactyl Staton "June" Haner, Jr.
(September 3, 1929 - April 11, 2015)



Bactyl Staton “June” Haner, Jr., 85, of Proctorville, Ohio, passed away Saturday April 11, 2015 at his residence. Memorial services will be conducted at 6 pm Thursday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Rodney Hale. He was born September 2, 1929 in Logan, WV, a son of the late Bactyl Staton Haner, Sr. and Anne Eloise Dillon Haner. “June” was a veteran of the US Navy Reserves. He was a retired mechanic with Wooten’s Garage, volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital in the Gift Shop, attended the First Baptist Church of Ceredo and enjoyed refinishing furniture. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, whom he missed very much, Evelyn Ruth Schafer Bentley Haner; brother Ronald Eugene Haner and sister Betty Jo Kimbler. Survivors include two sons and a daughter in law Bactyl Staton Haner, III of Indianapolis, IN and Charles Ronald and Deborah Lynn Haner of Lufkin, TX; daughter and son in law Willyne and Douglas Compton of Lincoln Park, MI; two step sons and spouses Ronald and Betty Jo Bentley of Taylor, Michigan and John and Terry Bentley of Huntington; step daughter and spouse Margaret and Curtis Hodges of Huntington; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 5 pm until service time on Thursday at the Reger Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Ceredo, P.O.
