Tommy E. McComas, 79, of Huntington, passed away Sunday November 22, 2015 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Rev. Thaddaeus Allen. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. He was born December 31, 1935 in Huntington, a son of the late Clifford Hartzel and Lillian Raines McComas. He was a retired salesman. Tommy was a Cabell Wayne Baseball batting title holder with a record that still stands, coach of Little League #2 West Kiwanis for several years. He was Champion of Champions in the Golden Gloves boxing and represented Huntington at Madison Square Garden, March 9, 1955 in the Open Division. He was a member of the Crescent Lodge #32 AF&AM of Ceredo and was a former Huntington City Police Commissioner. Tommy was a member of the Madison Ave. Christian Church where he had been a deacon. Survivors include his wife of 60 years Sheila “Donna” McComas; children Jeffery D. McComas of San Diego, California, Laura K. Hanley and Phillip A. McComas both of Huntington; grandchildren Cory and Cody Hanley and two great grandchildren. Friends may call from 11 am until service time on Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington or the Madison Ave. Christian Church.
