Obituary


Richard “Dick” Charles Perko, 77, of Huntington, passed away Sunday December 25, 2016 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel. Entombment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He was born October 10, 1939 in Bridgeport, Ohio, a son of the late Frank John and Creola Covington Perko. Dick was a veteran of the US Navy having served aboard the USS Intrepid. He was also a roofer for over 40 years with Union Local 185. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a daughter Marsha Perko; grandson Richard A. Perko; sister Arleen Mutusek and brother Kenneth “Jumbo” Perko. Survivors include his wife of 45 years Holly Sanders Perko; children Michelle (Tom) Watkins, Valerie (Paul) Pettit, Richard (Lori) Perko, Scott Perko, Donnie Myers, Frank (Emma) Perko and Hope (Richard) Kelley; seventeen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; siblings Frank (Mary Ann) Perko, Raymond Perko, Kathy (Fred) DePasquale, Harry Perko and Tim (Sharon) Perko; a host of nieces and nephews; special friend Tammy Naylor and special daughter and favorite nurse Betina Cline. The family would like to thank St. Mary’s Medical Center (Dr. Triplett) and the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House for their comfort and care. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington. Friends may call from 11 am until service time on Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Home.
