Kathleen Ritz Murdock
(December 7, 1924 - November 14, 2018)



Kathleen Ritz Murdock (Gik) of New Martinsville, WV died peacefully on November 14, 2018 at the Wyngate at Rivers Edge in Proctorville, Ohio.  She was born in New Martinsville, WV, on December 7, 1924.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William Carlton Murdock, and her parents Elza and Elda Ritz.   Kathleen’s faith in God was strong, and she was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of New Martinsville, WV, and a member of Order 50 of The Eastern Star. She is survived by her two children, William (Bill) Carlton Murdock, Jr. and his wife Marilyn McGinnis Murdock of Huntington, WV, and Timothy Lee Murdock and his wife Marilyn Hyde Murdock of Tulsa, OK. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Beth Murdock Pilcher and her husband Mark Pilcher; Erin Kathleen Murdock; William (Trey) Carlton Murdock III and his wife Christine Nguyen Murdock; Amanda Murdock-Massie and her husband Christopher Massie; and Timothy Lee Murdock; as well as nine great-grandchildren: Hannah Pilcher Parrish, Summer Rose Pilcher, Hattie Grace Pilcher, Carey Elizabeth McClelland, Charles Allen McClelland, Rupert Edward Clark, Nora Ellen Clark, William Carlton Murdock IV, and Charlotte Nguyen Murdock. Kathleen will be remembered as friendly and kind. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren with all of her heart.  She never met a stranger and made friends wherever she went. A private graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in New Martinsville, WV at a later date. Memorial Contributions can be made to First Baptist Church in New Martinsville or Hospice of Huntington, WV.
