Charles E. Sanford Sr.
(May 24, 1945 - September 17, 2018)



Rev. Charles Elba Sanford, Sr.
Born May 24, 1945 to the late Nathan and Sarah Jane (Lawhon) Sanford. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ September 17,2018. He will be greatly missed. He was a loving and devoted father, Paw, and father-in-law to son Charles (Chuck) Elba Sanford, Jr. and wife Alicia and special granddaughter Elbany Nikole Sanford. Charles was a preacher and evangelist for many years after becoming saved in his younger days and was affiliated with the Church of God. He was in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. His passions were being a Christian, electronics, gardening, and his loving son and granddaughter. He also loved his puppy, Peppi. He retired from ACF industries. He was preceded in death by wife Sharon C. Sanford and sister Elizabeth Sellards. He is also survived by brother Donald Sanford, Bill (Mary) Sanford, Rosa (Sam) Rowe, Henry (Nancy) Sanford. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Jason Paynter, Brother Tommy Romans, and Brother J.R. Reed on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 11 am at the Reger Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. Friends may call from 5 -7 pm on Thursday at the Reger Funeral Home.
