Obituary

Raymond "Mike" Adkins
(October 13, 1951 - November 26, 2020)

Raymond “Mike” Adkins, 69 years old, died Thursday November 26, 2020.  He retired from Special Metals in 2010.  Mike is survived by his wife Nancy of 44 years, daughter Mitzi Meade and grandsons Tucker Meade and Brock Meade.  He was a veteran of the US Army Reserve.   The Cincinnati Reds were his love – win or lose.  He umpired high school football and baseball and coached Little League in his early years.  He volunteered in Big Brothers.  Mike loved his family, enjoyed parties and BBQ’s at his home and was surrounded by the love of his close friends.  So life a glass and think of him “for the good times” – Oh Yes- don’t forget a good cigar.  We love you and will miss you until the end of time.  The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude for the care of Hospice of Huntington.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington.  A visitation will be held from 2 pm to 3 pm on Tuesday at the Reger Funeral Home, with a Funeral Rite following in the Reger Funeral Chapel by Monsignor Dean Borgmeyer.  Rite of Committal will follow in Woodmere Abbey of Remembrance, Huntington, WV.  Those attending are asked to follow CDC Guidelines and state mandates of wearing a mask and social distancing.
