Obituary

Carl Edward Wilhelm
(April 20, 1939 - September 15, 2021)



Carl Edward Wilhelm, 82 of Huntington, WV passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at his residence.   Local funeral  services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the Reger Funeral Home by is brother-in-law Mickey Plymale.  Carl was born in Hamilton, OH, the son of  the late Carl and Marietta (Horner) Wilhelm.  He grew up in St. Leon, IN. Carl is survived by his wife, Barbara Plymale Wilhelm.  Loving memories of Carl will be carried on by his children,  Diane Wilhelm, Lisa (Greg) Rask, Karla (Glenn) Sarigumba, Brian (Cynthia) Wilhelm and his step-daughter Suzie Elliott;  grandchildren, Vanessa Meyer (Andrew), Mateo Wilhelm, Ian and Nathan McSwain, Quade and Quinlan Wilhelm: great-grandchildren, Ethan, Elijah and Rowan Meyer, Audria and Mila Wilhelm; sister Bernice (Andy) Wilhelm-Nelson.  Additional survivers include, two brothers -in-law and their spouses: Mickey (Kathy) Plymale, and David (Gina) Plymale, and two special friends, Dwayne Tackett and Ron Wood, Jr. "Woody".   Carl was preceded in death by his sisters, Esther Cross, Roberta Brown and brothers, Stanley, Irven and Robert Wilhelm. Carl started his career as a carpenter and retired from Lee Construction as a Superintendent 57 years later.  He was a member of the Carpenters Union, enjoyed playing golf and cards with family and friends.  Frying chicken was always a passion of his especially during the annual Nascar race with his children. A visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 22 at Reger Funeral Home.  A visitation and funeral, yet to be scheduled,   will occur at Brater-Winter Funeral Home, 201 S. Vine St. Harrison, Ohio 45030. With entombment following in Miamitown Cemetery, state route 128, Hamilton Cleves Road, Miamitown, Ohio 45041.
