Mildred Virginia Lusher
(October 30, 1910 - March 6, 2013)



Mildred Virginia Lusher, 102, of Barboursville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on March 6, 2013 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, WV. She was born October 30, 1910 in Branchland, WV, the daughter of the late Robert and Cordelia Adkins Franklin. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville by Pastor James Jobe and Rev. Hurston Webb. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery, Branchland. She was a member of the Camp Branch Baptist Church for many years and attended Hebron Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband Wetzel Lusher; two sisters, Carrie Damron and Edith Estep; four brothers, Arthur Franklin, Alpha Franklin, Arnold Franklin and Verlin Franklin; and one son Gene A. Bess. She is survived by one daughter Donna (Tom) Miller of Newark, OH; and two sons George Lusher and John Lusher both of Barboursville, WV. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Thomas Bess of Virginia, Martina Baca of Texas, Andrea Able of Florida, Wes Miller of Newark, OH, Lance Miller of Wisconsin, Julie (David Kinner) of Barboursville, Jonathan Lusher of Barboursville and Ashley Lusher of Pennsylvania; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Rebecca Lodge. She was a homemaker, and provided a home for many people and loved her flower and vegetable gardens. We would like to thank all of her many caretakers through the years, especially Minnie, Myrtle and Cora. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hebron Baptist Church, 2204 McComas Road, Barboursville, WV 25504.
