Obituary

Edith Margie Adkins
(April 4, 1934 - February 4, 2017)



Edith Margie Adkins, 82, of Huntington, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 4, 2017. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel with Rev. Eugene Burd officiating. Burial will be in Baylous Cemetery. She was born April 4, 1934 in Lincoln County, a daughter of the late Taylor Adkins and Phoebe “Birdie” Mullins Adkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Adkins and two brothers, Alvin Evans and Mack Adkins. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Danny Coyle of Huntington; one son, Cecil Eugene Adkins of Huntington; four sisters, Georgie Sammons of Pineville, WV, Geraldine Reed of Columbus, OH, Denise “Cricket” Hudson and Trish Woods, both of Huntington; one brother, Dennis Adkins of Cardington, OH; two grandchildren and their spouses, Angela and Tony Clay of Huntington, and Kelly and Steve Brown with whom she made her home; four great grandchildren, C.J. and Delanie Coyle , Summer Coyle, Chelsea Clay and Brennon Coyle; two great great grandchildren who were her little angels, Clayton Coyle and Autumn Midkiff; special nieces, Linda Huston and Luann Holley; a goddaughter, Michaleigh Adkins, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.  Edith was a friend to everyone. She was loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
