Obituary
Jackson Fitzgerald
Moses II, 60, of Huntington died November 11, 2007 at his home after a
courageous battle against cancer. He was born January
10, 1947 in Welch, West Virginia, the son of the Sue Harris Moses and the
late Jackson Fitzgerald Moses of Huntington. Jack
graduated from Huntington High School in 1965 and Ohio State University in
1969. After college, he served in the US Army in Korea
as 1st Lieutenant. In 1972, he returned to Huntington
to work in the family automobile business, Moses Automotive Network.
He was an avid golfer and is a past President of Guyan Country Club
and a member of Hawk’s Nest Golf Club in Vero Beach, Florida. Jack is also a
past board member and director of the West Virginia Automobile and Truck
Dealers Association. He is survived by his wife of 38
years, Marsha Ann Hawkins Moses of Huntington; son, Jason Moses and wife,
Halcyon Findley Moses, and their two children Éowyn McGregor and Jackson
Fitzgerald Moses IV, of Huntington; daughter, Mary Ann Moses of Ho Chi Minh
City, Vietnam; daughter, Sarah Jane Moses and husband, Michael Halley of
Cambridge, Massachusetts; and daughter, Katie Lee Goldy and husband, Joel
Goldy and their two daughters, Harper Lee and Ellie McKinsey Goldy, of
Huntington. Also surviving are his siblings, Robert
Moses and his family of Charleston, WV; Barbara Atkins and her family of
Huntington, WV; and Steve Moses, and his family of Charleston, WV; as well
as his wife’s parents, Marshall and Sara Ann Hawkins of Huntington, WV.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 14 at 3 pm
at the Johnson Memorial Methodist Church by the Rev. Joseph Shreve.
Friends may call at the church preceding the service from 1-3 pm.
Burial will be at the Woodmere Cemetery. The
family requests contributions, in lieu of flowers, to Marshall University
Ericson Alumni Center, Hospice of Huntington, or the Johnson Memorial
Church.
