Trelma S. Curtis, 84, of Altizer, passed away Saturday, September
15, 2007 in River’s Bend Healthcare,
South Point,
OH. Funeral
service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at
Altizer
Baptist
Church.
Burial will follow at
Ridgelawn
Memorial Park,
Huntington.
She was born June 3, 1923 in
Barboursville,
WV, a daughter of the late
Carmel Sutphin and Reba Waugh Sutphin Black. She was
also preceded in death by her husband, Leonard P. Curtis; two sisters,
Wretha Turner and Ohnalene Gibson; one brother, Carmel A. Sutphin, Jr. and
an infant great grandson, William Curtis. Mrs. Curtis
retired from Kerr Glass in 1982 and she and her husband were founding
members of
Altizer
Baptist
Church in 1962.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Jerry
Chapman; one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sandy Curtis; five sisters,
Lodeskia Harper, Betty Ashworth, Mae Inscoe, Mary Jeffers and Natellia
Hinkle; six grandchildren and their spouses, Robert and Kim Curtis, Jeff and
Myrna Curtis, Angela and Eric Mullins, Jerry and Betti Chapman, Jr., Michale
and Curtis Kingery and Trel and Adam Vance; 21 great grandchildren, Travis,
Hunter, Erica, Noah, Austin, Kaitlin, Javier, Stephany, Brandi, Jarrod,
Dusti, Christopher, Seth, Chauncey, Cheyenne, Gracie, Josh, Joe, Jacob, Hope
and Cody; and five great-great grandchildren, Brandon, Rae-Anne, Kyler,
Kaelee and Graysen. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m.
Monday, September 17, 2007 at Beard Mortuary and one hour prior to the
service at the church on Tuesday.
