Obituary

Dona Jane Ohlinger Troy, 62, of Huntington passed away Monday, September 10, 2007 in Hospice House of Huntington.  Funeral service will be conducted at 11 AM, Thursday, September 13, 2007 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Huntington with Pastor Brian Nunnally officiating.  Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park.  She was born February 19, 1945, in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late Joseph M. and Elva Jane Pemberton Ohlinger.  She is survived by her husband of eighteen years, Robert E. Troy, and was the proud step-mother of his children, Mary Anne Bowyer, and husband, Lyle, of Barboursville, WV; the late Vicky Slaughter, and husband, Hal, of Martinsburg, WV; Connie Cook, and husband, Tim, of Palm City, FL; Mark Troy, and wife, Sue, of Charleston, WV; and Amy Masters, and husband, Shane, of Berea, KY; nine step-grandchildren; seven step-great grandchildren; spouses of grandchildren and six beloved children from spouse’s previous marriages, all of whom were dearly loved.  Dona is survived by two sisters, Linda Ohlinger Bronken, and husband, Curtis, of Brooklyn Park, MN; Janice Ohlinger Early of Nitro, WV; nieces and nephews, Lynn Sammons, and husband, Charles, of Estero, FL; Karra Bieber of Culloden, WV; Leah Vanoy of South Charleston, WV; Steve Bronken, and wife, Sarah, of Shakopee, MN; Amy Jarosz, and husband, Tom, of Andover, MN; and Jon Bronken of Fargo, ND; five great nieces; three great nephews; three great great nieces; and many beloved cousins from the Ohlinger, Roush, Pemberton, Willis, Price, and Cheuvront families.  Until recently, Dona had been an active member of Christ the King Lutheran Church and a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Huntington.  She was an inactive member of the Buford Chapter of the DAR; she was formerly employed with the Twentieth Street Bank, United Airlines, Crystal State Bank (Minnesota), Sharon’s Village Salon, and Happy Hair Boutique.  Dona asks each of you to remember to do the following in life – Love God with all your heart and mind; Obey God’s Ten Commandments; and to Accept His Salvation as He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die for you!  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hospice of Huntington.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7-9 PM at Beard Mortuary.
