      Grace Louise (Henniger) 
      Workman

 Mrs. Grace Louise Workman, formerly of Merrill 
    Ave., Huntington, died Wed., June 9, 2010. She was a good Christian and is 
    now with her Lord. Grace passed away peacefully after a short illness. She 
    was 101 years old and has lived with her son Larry and his wife Peggy for 
    several years on the family farm near
    
    Louisa,
    Ky. Mrs. Workman as born June 
    2, 1909 in a log home on a small farm on Cats Creek 4 miles from
    
    Lowell,
    Ohio. Take a moment and reflect 
    on rural farm life in the early 1900s. Grace graduated with honors from 
    Lowell High School and then from Marietta Business School. She then went to 
    work with the U.S. Corps of Engineers in
    
    Huntington where she was a 
    valued employee for many years while also being a wonderful wife and mother. 
    She retired from the Corps. in 1972. Mrs. Workman was married to Bromley See 
    Workman for 67 good years. As wife, mother and grandmother she was always 
    known for making sacrifices for her family. An active member of Highlawn 
    Baptist Church, she truly loved the members of her Sunday School class. She 
    was also a knowledgeable sports fan and loved baseball, football and 
    basketball. She was truly a member of the "greatest generation". Mrs. 
    Workman was preceded in death by her husband, Bromley, in 2005, her parents 
    Harvey Henniger and Loena Pfile Henniger; one sister, Hilda Henniger; and 5 
    brothers, Ralph, George, Heber, Elmer and Emmitt. Survivors include 2 sons, 
    Larry Edward and wife Peggy, and Bromley Richard and wife Susan; 4 
    grandchildren, Doug Workman, Connie Hollis, Kara Orwig, and Jake Workman; 
    and 8 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be one hour at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, 
    June 13 at Beard Mortuary, Huntington. Interment and graveside rites 
    will follow in the Workman Cemetery, Louisa, Ky. In lieu of flowers, the 
    family requests donations to the
    Highlawn
    Baptist
    Church in
    
    Huntington.
