ObituaryBERNARD MULLENS, 91, of South Point, OH passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the Emogene Dolin-Jones Hospice House in Huntington. He was born on February 23, 1921 in Princeton, WV, a son of the late James and Nora Underwood Mullens. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lois “Penny” Shupe Mullens; a daughter, Myra (Jim) Talbot of Mineral Wells, WV; grand-daughters Angie Tucker of Royal Oak, MI and Dr. Julie (Don) Novel of Columbus, OH; two great-grandsons, Elliott Bakirci and Anthony Novel. Mr. Mullens served his Country in the U.S. Army 606 Ordinance Battalion during WWII and was a member of the Daytona Beach First Presbyterian Church. He retired from AEP as Assistant Regional Dispatcher after 35 years of service. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Dr. David Lemming officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Princeton, WV. Friends may call on Monday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the mortuary.
