Nita Rose Gore 86 of Huntington, WV passed away on Tuesday March 25, 2014. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Fatima with Father Paul Yuenger officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. She was born January 18, 1928 in Monaville, WV the daughter of the late Patsy and Frances Lamp. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Gore, Sr.; brothers, Joe, Tony and John Lamp and sisters, Meka Olive, Joanna Chirico and Mary Esposito. Nita worked as a nurse for St. Mary’s Hospital, Dr. Joseph Farrell and retired from Presbyterian Manor Nursing Home. She was an active member for many years at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, Our Lady of Fatima Women’s Guild and The Democratic Women’s Club. She is survived by her daughters, Laura Gore Layland and husband, Michael of Knoxville, TN and Joanna Gore Elkins and husband, Greg of Hamlin, WV; sons, John F. Gore, Jr and wife Cathy of Marysville, OH and Avery Claude Gore and wife Jennifer of Ona, WV; grandchildren, John F. Gore, III of Urbana, OH; Christal Gore of Indian Land, SC; Katie Valencia and husband Justin of Marysville, OH; Mary Beth Gore of Marysville; Joshua Gore and wife Heather of Indian Land, SC; Sara Elsmore and husband James of Marysville; Stephen M. Layland of Knoxville, TN; Jessica Elkins and Rachel Elkins of Morgantown, WV; great grandchildren, Mason and Kyle Valencia of Marysville and Cooper Avery and Claire James Gore of Indian Land and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday after 10:00 a.m. until service time at Our Lady of Fatima. Beard Mortuary is assisting the family.
