ObituaryEUGENE MAYNARD, 83, of Huntington, went to be with his Lord on Friday July 31, 2015, at the Emogene Dolin Hospice House, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 30, 1932 to the late Frank and Sada Finley Maynard. He was also preceded in death by a beloved son, Donald Eugene Maynard; brothers, John Maynard and Theautry Maynard and sisters Myrtle Dick and Fae Maynard Flowers. He was a Huntington East High School graduate and a member of Fifth Ave Freewill Baptist Church. He served as a medic in the Army from 1949-1951. He was a certified welder by trade, a successful real estate investor and a man of few words. He leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Phyllis; his daughter Connie Walker Maynard; his son Ronnie Eugene (Sandy) Maynard and a daughter-in-law Stephanie Maynard all of Huntington. He is also survived by his sister Judy (Robert) Beckett of Ona; brothers Gary Maynard of Huntington and Walter Maynard of Baltimore MD; grandchildren Kari (Charley) Shumaker, Andy Maynard, Travis Kauffer all of Huntington, Alex (Amanda) Maynard of Proctorville, OH and Jordan Ross of Huntington and four great-grandchildren Allen and Megan Shumaker, Teygan Kauffer, Gage and Jaxon Maynard all of whom he loved very much. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and your staff, they comfort me You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil. My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. Psalm: 23 Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 3rd, at Beard Mortuary with Rev. Cledith Campbell and Rev. Ray Vance officiating. Burial will follow at Community Gardens Cemetery, Wayne. The family will receive friends after 11:30 a.m. on Monday. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice of Huntington.
