ObituaryStephen Douglas Hill, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015 at Providence Pine Meadows Health Center in Lexington. He was born in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Herbert Wilson Hill and H. Pauline Baldwin Hill. Steve attended Milligan College in Tennessee, received his undergraduate degree at Marshall University where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, he received his Master’s Degree at Middle Tennessee State University, and there almost completed his Doctorate Degree. Steve’s career began as coaching basketball in high schools, then to pursue college coaching at Anoka Ramsey, Western Illinois, North Dakota State University, and Austin Peay University. After coaching, he became a pro-negotiator for the Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Lakers, and scouted for the Milwaukee Bucks. Steve then began working for 3M where he was awarded top salesman many times. His survivors include his daughter, Stephanie Marie Baylor; grandsons, Nicholas Bryan Baylor, Matthew Stephen Baylor, and Joey Harrison Baylor of Columbiana, Ohio; his sister, Carol Lynn Hill Polly and her husband, Richard, of Woodbridge, Virginia; his nephew, Brent Douglas Polly and his wife, Amy; great niece, Sydney Polly and great-nephew, Ethan Polly of Arlington, Virginia; his beloved Yorkie, “Beasley”, and Sandra Hill of Columbiana, Ohio and Pamela Hill of Lexington, Kentucky. Steve was happiest being with his family, seeing children happy and being able to help others succeed. He had many close friends whom he loved dearly. All of this contributed to his living a good and fulfilled life. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Beard Mortuary in Huntington, West Virginia.
