Helen Florence Meadows, 74, of Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Born on August 23, 1941 in Huntington, she was a daughter of the late Walker Elkins and Bessie Beckett Elkins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jeff Elkins, grandson, Aldridge Thompson Ferrell IV and granddaughter, Melissa Pauley. Helen retired from M & P Industries after several years of service. She enjoyed sports and attended as many sporting events as she could. Helen would even attend sporting events for kids who had no one there to cheer them on and was known as “Mamaw” to many children in the community. She also enjoyed collecting shot glasses, sewing, reading and watching the Foodnetwork. She is survived by her children, Tammy (Blaine) McCreery of Ohio and Cheryl Samuel of NC; sister, Becky (Jim) Rice of MD; 5 grandchildren; 5 nieces and nephews and 2 great-nieces. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Beard Mortuary, Huntington. The family will welcome friends one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville.
