Patricia “Pat” Shreve Scarrott, 91, of Huntington, went home to be with the Lord on December 24, 2016 at the Woodlands Retirement Community in Huntington. Born September 17, 1925 in Huntington, she was the daughter of the late Smith Shreve and Carrie B. Jarrell Shreve. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William “Bill” Scarrott; cousin, Marjorie Williamson and special friend, Wilma Shreve. Pat graduated from Huntington East High School in 1943. She was an active member of the H.E.H.S. class of 1943 reunion committee where she served as president for their 40th reunion, acted as secretary for many years as well as treasurer when the committee disbanded after their 60th reunion. Pat worked at Island Creek Coal Company in the Credit Department for 30 years, Rogers Jewelers, and retired from the C.I. Thornburg Co. Inc. She was a lifelong member of Highlawn United Methodist Church where she served as president of the United Methodist Women, was a member of the Mary-Martha Sub Group where she served as president, secretary and later acted as treasurer for many years. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Charlotte Smith of Pontiac, Michigan; several nieces and nephews in Michigan; special cousin, Jarrell Baughman of Wilmington, NC and special friend, Jean Backus. Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Beard Mortuary with Pastor Steve Hamrick, officiating. The family will welcome friends after 12:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Memorial Park in Huntington.
