      Obituary
 
     
 TED TURNER HAUN, 82, of Huntington, 
    W.Va., went to meet his Heavenly Father surrounded by his loving caring 
    wife, Doris, and devoted family on Thursday, February 18, 2016. Funeral 
    services will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2016, at 2 p.m. at 
    Beard Mortuary with Rev. Bill DeMoss and Rev. Steve 
    Hinkle officiating. Entombment and military rites will follow in 
    White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Ted was born June 26, 
    1933, in Jefferson City, Tenn., the son of the late DeSota and Bobbie Taylor 
    Haun. He was also preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Becky Black Haun. 
    Ted and his brother Ed were the owners of Ted and Ed's Pro Bowl and later he 
    owned Ted's Imperial Lanes. He was a member of Huntington Men's Bowling 
    Association Hall of Fame, Pro Bowlers Association, Elks Lodge BPOE 313, 
    Moose Lodge and American Legion Post 16. He was an Army veteran. Ted 
    considered it an honor to be a dedicated driver of the Disabled American 
    Veterans van where he made a multitude of friends. Ted is survived by his 
    loving wife of 38 years, Doris Blankenship Haun, whom he adored; his sister 
    Betty (Marv) Hauenstein of Bucyrus, Ohio; brother and best friend Ed 
    (Charity) Haun of Huntington, W.Va.; his children Mike (Lynn) Haun and Gary 
    Haun of Westerville, Ohio, Renee Schambre and Lori (Harry) Cope of 
    Mansfield, Ohio, Wendy (Dave Hoover) Thrall of Shelby Township, Mich., Mysti 
    (David) Oakes of Matthews, N.C., John Hale and Michelle (Tom) Powers of 
    Charlotte, N.C.; grandchildren Teresa, Steven, DeSota, Natalie, Trey, 
    Reagan, Nichole, Nicholas, Vincent, Jason, Brandon and Matthew; several 
    great-grandchildren, a nephew, two nieces, and a host of friends including a 
    long-time friend Jim McNeill, who will serve as an honorary pallbearer. 
    Pallbearers will be grandsons DeSota, Trey, Matthew and Nicholas, nephew 
    Brad Haun and Jimi Bledsoe. Those who wish may make memorial contributions 
    to Wounded Warriors or Hospice of Huntington. The 
    family will receive friends on Sunday from noon until service time at
