C. Wayne Manning, 69 of Huntington, WV, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at First Church of the Nazarene, Huntington with Pastor Don Lohr and Danny McSweeney officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. He was born May 12, 1947 in Winterville, NC, the son of the late B.T. Manning and Frances Manning Clark. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Everette, grandson, Colten Matthew Adams and a nephew, Jimmy Wayne Bryant. He graduated from Winterville High School, while attending East Carolina University was drafted to serve our great country in the Vietnam War. When he returned from serving he graduated from the The American College, Chartered Financial Council and Chartered Life Underwritter. In 1980 Wayne moved to Huntington, WV and founded the former C. Wayne Manning Insurance Agency with Nationwide Insurance which he currently operates with partner and friend, Clarence Lykins as Partners Insurance & Financial Services, Inc. In the years he had with Nationwide Insurance he received several honors; twenty-one Presidents Awards, eighteen Champion Awards, Nationwide Life Council eight times, the All-Star Award and was a Hall of Fame Member. In his semi-retirement his future endeavor was Coastline RV Resort with friends, Garrett and Chester Creamer. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and attended East Point Church of God, East Point, FL. Wayne lived his life to the fullest. He cherished his family and especially enjoyed his grandchildren and their activities over the years; he loved his horses, flying on many trips and farming. Wayne, Pete Mastrangelo and Harry Zimmerman fondly called themselves the “3 Amigos” and had a bucket list between them and had enjoyed many adventures together. He is survived by his loving family including his wife, Dianne Dean Manning; daughters and sons-in-law, Jacqueline and Paul Chevalier of Huntington; Heather and Gary Sawyers of Huntington and Hollie and Marshall Henry of Kitts Hill, OH; a sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Wayne Bryant of Robertsonville, NC; grandchildren, Mason Adams and fiancé Breanna Broughton, Morgan Sawyers, Bailee Blankenship, Tate Sawyers, Ryan Henry, Makenzie Sawyers, Shad Henry, Caroline Chevalier and Jackson Chevalier; a special niece, Paiton Dean and great granddaughter, Keelie Adams and a host of clients, friends and extended family. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Huntington City Mission, 624 10th Street Huntington, WV 25701.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Beard Mortuary.
