Belfa “Mimi” Harshbarger, 95, of Huntington, WV, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016, at Midland Meadows Senior Living. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary with Rev. Keith Creasy and Rev. Andy Magnusson officiating. Entombment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. She was born July 11, 1920, in Logan, WV, the daughter of the late Kennie and Martha Jude May. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert B. Harshbarger, Sr., a sister, Iris Fay Matter and a son-in-law, Michael A. Knight. She was a member of Baptist Temple. She was retired from the former Anderson-Newcomb Department Store. Belfa is survived by three daughters, Barbara Knight of The Villages, FL; Martha Waddell of St. Petersburg, FL; and Mary Ann (Thom)Nash of Huntington; a son Robert B. (Barbara Jordan) Harshbarger, Jr. of Huntington; grandchildren, Shane Gunnoe, Brandon Gunnoe, Matthew Harshbarger, Amy H. Thompson, Todd Harshbarger, Joshua Waddell, Sean Waddell, Jim Nash and Adam Nash; great grandchildren, Gabe Gunnoe, Isaiah, Jordan and Faith Harshbarger, Cameron and Caden Thompson, Joshua and Ethan Waddell, Anaiya Waddell, George, Kate, Ellie, Henry and Frasier Nash; a sister, Arbutus Surbaugh of Huntington; a brother, Raymond C. (Mary) May of Huntington and several nieces and nephews. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to gratefully thank Mimi’s “angels” at Midland Meadows for their love, care and affection. Also, thanks to Hospice of Huntington.
