KIM ALAN BERLT, 61, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017. A memorial and military service will be 7 p.m. on Friday at Staunton Street Apostolic Church. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. He was born July 25, 1955, the son of James Garner "Pete" Berlt II of Huntington and the late Erma Lee Ross Berlt. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Robin Renee, due to an automobile accident. Kim was a ranking participant in the Golden Gloves Tournaments. After high school, he served in the United States Air Force with the rank of Sergeant. He made friends across the city as a taxicab driver and a CNC operator at Level One Fasteners. He had donated a kidney to a complete stranger. He is held in loving memory by his brother, Guy and Kathy Berlt of Arizona, and niece, Kristi Berlt Pena of Florida, whom he dearly loved, and a former sister-in-law, Linda Morgan of Huntington, and a long list of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends by the score.
