Kim Alan Bert
(July 25, 1955 - June 17, 2017)
KIM ALAN BERLT,
61, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2017. A memorial
and military service will be 7 p.m. on Friday at
Staunton Street
Apostolic Church. The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. He was born
July 25, 1955, the son of James Garner "Pete" Berlt II of Huntington and the
late Erma Lee Ross Berlt. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in
death by a sister, Robin Renee, due to an automobile accident. Kim was a
ranking participant in the Golden Gloves Tournaments. After high school, he
served in the United States Air Force with the rank of Sergeant. He made
friends across the city as a taxicab driver and a CNC operator at Level One
Fasteners. He had donated a kidney to a complete stranger. He is held in
loving memory by his brother, Guy and Kathy Berlt of Arizona, and niece,
Kristi Berlt Pena of Florida, whom he dearly loved, and a former
sister-in-law, Linda Morgan of Huntington, and a long list of aunts, uncles,
cousins and friends by the score. Beard
