Frederick Michael "Fred" Haughey

Frederick Michael “Fred” Haughey, 73
of Milton, WV passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at Emogene
Dolin Hospice House. He was born January 4, 1945 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the
late Earl Lowell and Mary Phyllis Jones Haughey. In addition to his parents
he was preceded in death by a brother, David. Fred was owner/operator of
McDonald’s Restaurants for 38 years along with his son, Anderson. He was a
compassionate employer, he enjoyed hiring and meeting with young people and
encouraging them to better themselves and to work hard so they could move
up. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member and past
president of Ronald McDonald House, Charleston, WV. He is survived by his
loving family, his beloved wife, Linda Elliott Haughey; a son and
daughter-in-law, Anderson “Andy” and Erin Haughey of Barboursville, WV; a
granddaughter, Reagan Haughey; a sister, Madolyn Mumma of Mason, OH; several
nieces and nephews, a lifelong friend, Anthony Butch Raffa of Atlanta, GA.,
and a host of extended family and friends. The family would like to express
a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Hospice House for their excellent care
and support. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Hospice of
Huntington, 1101 6th Avenue, Huntington, WV 25701 or Ronald McDonald House,
1500 17th Street, Huntington, WV 25701. The family will receive friends on
Sunday from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Beard Mortuary, 3001 3rd Avenue, Huntington.
Private funeral services and burial will follow.
