| ObituaryBethsaida Teresa Dickens 
    Thacker BETHSAIDA TERESA "TERRI" DICKENS THACKER, 
    72, of Milton, W.Va., passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2018, 
    at Village at Riverview. She was born April 22, 1945, in Mayaguez, Puerto 
    Rico, the daughter of the late Jose Ruiz and Cruz Mercado Ruiz Bayron. She 
    was also preceded in death by five brothers and a sister. She was retired 
    from Marshall University. Terri immigrated to the U.S. at an early age and 
    lived in a Catholic Orphanage, Mount Loretto, Staten Island, N.Y. At the age 
    of 15, her brothers retrieved her from the orphanage. She went on to live, 
    work and graduate from Battin High School in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She 
    married and moved to Kentucky and had three children who survive her, Kelly 
    Dickens McGuffin of Huntington, Anthony "Tony" Dickens of Delaware and 
    Derick (Lacie) Dickens of Virginia. She is also survived by six 
    grandchildren, Kayla (Drew) Holtzapfel, Anthony, Aaron, Acacia, Elianna and 
    Liberty Dickens; two great-grandchildren, Levi and Ryker Holtzapfel; and a 
    special friend for many years, Virginia Turner. The family would like to 
    express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Village at Riverview, Hospice 
    of Huntington and her hospice nurse, Michelle Williams. There will be a 
    private family service.
