Raymond Edward Kelly
(March 28, 1929 - April 1, 2012)



Raymond Edward Kelly, 83, of Huntington, WV, husband of Marie E. Patton Kelly, passed away Sunday April 1, 2012 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Chapman’s Mortuary with Pastor David Cartwright and Rev. Bill DeMoss officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He was born March 28, 1929 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Edward S. and Inez V. Hauser Kelly. In addition to his parents a sister, Kathleen Colton, and a brother, Robert Kelly, preceded him in death. Raymond was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and retired from the central office of the former C&P Telephone Company as a C.O. Technician, with 45 years service. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and faithful member and volunteer at Cross Roads United Methodist Church. Raymond also served on the Board of Directors for Cabway Telco Credit Union. Additional survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Rebecca Kelly of Huntington, and Patricia and Ken Pennington of Lexington, KY; a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Diana Kelly of Huntington; four grandchildren, Madison Kelly, Aaron Kelly, Kelli Anne Pennington, and Kendall Pennington; two step granddaughters; four step great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Bill Gill of Huntington; several nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins from Indiana. Donations may be made to the Salvation Army in Raymond's honor. Friends may call 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday at Chapman’s Mortuary.
