Robert W. Paden

Robert W. Paden, 84, of Huntington, WV, passed away, Friday April 27, 2012 at Huntington Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was the son of the late Alfred Nelson Paden and Ruth Paden Cales. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, David M. Paden. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Joyce Martin Paden, a brother Nelson Paden & wife Georganne of Huntington, 5 children, Robert L. Paden & wife Paula of Wayne, WV, Christi Paden Basnight & husband Neal of Edenton, NC, Karen Paden Lee & husband Edwin of Chesapeake, VA, Barry A. Paden of Norfolk, VA, and Sheila Wade Sanders & husband Forrest of Virginia Beach, VA, 7 grandchildren, Amy Lynn McCole of Elizabeth City, NC, Michael Lang of South Hills, NC, Edwin Lee, Jr, Robert O. Wade II and Charles Sanders all of Virginia Beach, Karen E. Lee of Chesapeake, Va, & Jessica Paden of Wayne, three great-grandsons, John McCole III, Caleb McCole & Edwin Lee III, two nieces Brenda Meador & husband Allen of Huntington & Tina Skidmore of Barboursville and a very good friend John Fry of Huntington. Robert was retired from the Navy with 21 years of service. He was a member of VFW Post 1064 and also retired from Mary Jane Bakery in Norfolk, VA with 22 years of service. He was an avid golfer and worked at Riviera Golf Course as a Marshall & Starter for several years. At his request there will be no visitation or service. Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington is assisting the family.
