George Edward Leonard, 82, of Taylors, SC, formerly of Huntington, widower of Dolores A. Leonard, died Monday, July 3, 2017 in Cornerstone Hospital, Huntington, WV. He was born November 19, 1934 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Chauncey M. and Mary Elizabeth Glasscox Leonard. In addition to his parents and wife he had a son, Timothy Edward Leonard; a grandson, David Ray Leonard; and a brother, Chester Leonard precede him in death. He retired from ACF having worked in the Shipping and Receiving Department. Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Bailey and her husband, Brian Morgan of Taylors, SC, and Stephanie Leonard of Huntington; a son, Dennis Leonard and his wife, Ronda of Greenville, SC; three sisters, Sarah Bush and husband, Earl Bush, Grace Fetty, and Frances Baker and husband Thomas Baker; three brothers, Guy Leonard, James Leonard and wife, Rose Leonard, and Lester Leonard; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Leonard and wife, Selena Leonard, Jonathan Bailey, Jacob Bailey and wife, Valerie Bailey, Jina O'Neal, Braxton Michels, Samantha Michels, and Kristin Morgan; 12 great grandchildren, including a special great grandson, Cameron "Cam" Bailey; and a special daughter-in-law, Sarah Cook Bailey. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Chapman's Mortuary and burial will be in Spring Valley Memorial Gardens, Huntington. Friends may visit with family after noon on Wednesday at Chapman's Mortuary.
