Obituary



Erma Lee Scott, 93, of Huntington, WV, died Saturday May 11, 2019. Graveside funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday May 16, 2019 at Spring Hill Cemetery, with Rev. Richard Mobayed officiating, with a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM Thursday at Highlawn Presbyterian Church (2814 Collis Ave), with a reception to follow at the church. Erma Lee was born March 3, 1926 in Proctorville, OH, a daughter of the late James and Etta Edwards Eaton. She retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, a member of the Highlawn Presbyterian Church, worked at the Pentagon when she was 18 years old during WWII, a member of the V.F.W. post 9738 and American Legion Post 16 Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid square dancer and a member of the Paw Taws square dance club, loved to sew, garden and loved animals. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Roy Scott, Jr., one brother, Andy Jack Eaton and one sister, Marcella Nidel. Survivors include one daughter, Diana Turner (Casey) Harbour of Ashton, WV, two sons, Nick (Janie) Forto of Richmond, VA and Jim (Sue) Forto of Chesapeake, OH. 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and a dear friend and cousin Patty Eaton Thacker of Wildwood, FL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington. Chapman's Mortuary Huntington is assisting the family.
