Obituary
Mildred Genevieve Adkins, 92, of
Huntington, mother of Donna Sue Cole Bailey with whom she made her home,
graduated this life, Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the Emogene Dolin Jones
Hospice House. She was born September 7, 1929 in Huntington, WV, a daughter
of the late Kennie Hansford and Lillie Mae Carpenter Harris. Additional
family that has preceded her in death were a son, Gary Michael Cole;
son-in-law, Gary Allen "Corky" Bailey; eight sisters and three brothers; and
two granddaughters, Julie Brown and Kristi Morrison. In addition to her
daughter, survivors include a brother, John Alby Harris (Dena) of
Proctorville; grandchildren, Missy Wren (Derick), Jamie Bailey (Sarah) both
of Huntington, and Tonya, Matthew, David (Trish), Alex (Katlin), and Ashlea
Cole; 21 great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren; along
with several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted 2:00
PM Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Maple Hill Cemetery, Kenova, with Jamie Bailey
officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Chapman's Mortuary
is assisting the family.
